Oh my goodness romance fans – there’s a new romance author queen 👑 in town and she’s called Kelly Tink!
This book gave me bucket loads of warm tingles. It made me reach for my handheld electric fan in places and it tugged at my heartstrings.
This book also made me want to hunt down a scientist with a time machine, hop inside, travel back in time to when I was younger and persuade my parents (both strangers to DIY) to build me a treehouse in the tissue sized sized garden of our house (on a Leeds housing estate). Sigh – this would have added a new and exciting side to my teenage romances.
Moving swiftly on here’s the blurb:
Here’s the blurb:
In their secret tree house, nine-year-old Emma and her best friend Chris made a promise: ‘You and me forever’.
It’s been five years since Emma left her hometown with her soon to be ex-husband and eight years since the tragedy that taught her and Chris that nothing lasts forever.
Now thirty, Emma is an unemployed nurse living back on her parents’ farm, her life in tatters. Chris, however, is finally healing and making a success of his family’s country estate.
They step into their old friendship as if it were yesterday, but as Emma sets out to rebuild her life, will their past and Chris’s future throw her further off balance?
Or will she find the happiness she left behind by returning to the treehouse?
Here’s my review:
If sweet emotional romance is your thing – read this fabulous book!
I am a fan of books which take me on an emotional rollercoaster. After I’d finished this one I felt like I had experienced something. My insides felt all fluttery.
I really got behind Emma who was coming to terms with the end of her marriage and new life at the start of the book. She also had my attention because she was reconnecting with her gorgeous best friend called Chris.
Their friendship was rekindled during the book and neither could see what was in front of their eyes – *tearful whisper from me* they were made for each other. *Dabs nose with tissue*
The standout was their beautiful friendship. I take my fictional hat off to Kelly Tink for creating a believable friendship.
If Chris ever wants a new best friend, someone a little bit older perhaps, someone who writes romance and loves the idea of having some intense conversations alone in that treehouse – he only has to ask!
I am not going to give the game away but this is one heck of an emotional journey they go on in this story and YES I cried at the end.
I cannot wait for your next book Kelly ❤️
