The virtual cocktail bar is open and the barman will be happy to make you up the virtual cocktail of your choice.
After 3 years and 6 months of blood, sweat, tears, endless cups of coffee, 12 drafts, 5 rewrites, many hours spent at the kitchen table, countless time spent gazing out of the window daydreaming, loads of sweaty author nightmares, millions of texts and emails to writers friends, a mind boggling number of tweets, Facebook posts, Instagram posts and blog posts, the decision in March to self-publish after a lot of rejections, time spent with an editor, a proofreader, a book cover designer, a six-day holiday to Dubrovnik, an overnight stay at a luxury hotel in Worcester and a week filled with non-stop emotion, my book; Instructions For Falling In Love Again, IS NOW LIVE.
I would like you all to take a seat and watch the show.
Here is my book’s journey in a series of thought provoking images:
Husband runs London Marathon to celebrate being 10 yrs cancer free and the little red book he carries around to record his training sparks my idea. Earliest photo I have is from 2016 and the second draft completion The next day I treated myself to afternoon tea. Okay I think I got a bit carried away with the second draft celebrations. If I recall all my beta readers disliked this draft ๐3rd draft I discovered Nutella to be a great writing aid ๐6th draft celebrations looked interesting! At end of 2017 rejections were coming in and my daughter left me this on my bed. This beta reader loved my 8th draft ๐๐ผ17 March this year – decision to self publish My talented book designer created this in May ๐To recover from editing go on girlie holiday 3 weeks from launch ๐คฉTalk lots about books while on holiday Week before launch go to luxury hotel to celebrate friendโs 50th and a LOT of final checks! Love my friends ๐The dream begins ๐Tearful at the kitchen table when paper back proof arrives ๐ค
So, itโs live in Kindle format and paperback is coming.
Let me tell you about the book:
Pippa is my main character. Sheโs mother to Daisy, Libby and Billy. Three years after the death of her husband, Dan, Pippa finds a collection of notebooks full of Danโs advice on how to live without him. Pippaโs notebook contains Danโs advice on how to fall in love again. Pippaโs two crazy friends; Emma and Mel, help her read through Danโs instructions and offer to be her dating consultants. The only problem with Danโs Instructions is that he has suggested Pippa dates Mikey, his handsome friend from football. Mikey is a ladies man and the source of all female gossip on Facebook. Why would you do this, Dan??? Why on earth would sensible Pippa want to date someone like Mikey?
Scrap that!
