How To Show Your Appreciation For a Blog Post #bloggers #blogs #blogging

Blog posts are great!

They can be:

  • Easy to access and you can read them anywhere (WiFi permitting).
  • Short and sweet compared to magazines and books.
  • Informative and full of useful stuff.
  • Beautiful to look at.
  • Uplifting and inspiring.

It is only when you start a blog that you understand how much hard work goes into putting together regular blog posts.

There are some really easy and simple ways you can show your blog post appreciation.

You are probably asking ‘why?’

Well here are some reasons:

  • They will put a smile on the blogger’s face.
  • Make all those hard blogging moments seem worth it.
  • Encourage them to write more good posts.
  • Every bit of appreciation they get from blog readers helps build their confidence and you never know where this might take them.

It doesn’t take much to show your appreciation but what you do goes a long way!

So when you finish reading a good blog post you can do one or more of the following:

  1. Like it.
  2. Talk about it to friends.
  3. Leave a brief comment.
  4. Email the link to a friend for them to read.
  5. Tweet it.
  6. Pin it.
  7. Stick a photo of the post on Instagram with the link.
  8. Share it on Facebook.
  9. Add it to your Stumble lists.
  10. Follow the blog.
  11. Follow the blog on Twitter.
  12. Email the blogger.
  13. Leave a touching comment with some cute emojis.
  14. Join a blog comment conversation on the post.
  15. Reblog it.
  16. Retweet it.
  17. Follow the blog on a blogging network.
  18. Write a blog post review and link to it.
  19. Bookmark it.
  20. Go back the next day!

Appreciate those good blog posts!

Hi Lucy well done with your original and positive blog – you brighten our days πŸ™‚

  3. Hikes are always easy to appreciate πŸ™‚

  4. Blog reader appreciation–this is great!

  5. Yes what a thoughtful list. I suppose ‘find the bloggers home addresss and stalk them ‘ is inappropriate?

  6. When you feel you get it ‘right’ and the ‘likes’ come in it’s shear joy…and when your posts end up lonely (not that yours do!) you learn something too…so everything a positive. Blogging…can take a while to find your way…but when you do it’s magic. Well done you I’m glad I found you in all your guises. Strong tea, a little milk, no sugar please. Eric

  7. It’s always great when someone takes the time to comment on my blog posts. I often wish I could write more in response – I wrote a blog on why I blog and Write

The same applies to commenting. I know how much work goes into a blog post, so appreciation is always welcome.

  8. I think this post is very good, now we need to tweet it and fb it so it goes viral then all the passers by who only ever pop to a blog occasionally and never comment will see it. I think other bloggers know how important comments, pingbacks etc… are. *whispers* It’s all the others.

    • It’s really hard getting this message out there to readers. Your comment fitted with my thought process. It’s getting it to readers. Thx – v useful comment πŸ™‚

  9. absolutely thats why I try to stalk your posts ^_^ in a totally non creepy way
    happy wednesday

  10. I love reading blog posts, especially yours. Problem is, there are so many bloggers if I tried to read every one I’d never get any work done. πŸ˜€ Excellent list, though, with your signature style. Love it.

  11. Reblogged this on Chris The Story Reading Ape's Blog and commented:
Very like how to promote a book you like – for leave a comment, substitute Leave a Review πŸ˜€

  12. I sent Steph Richmond a link to your blog, she added mine to a list of her favourite blogs and asked if I had any. So here is a link to hers. “Jus sayin” we gotta pay it forward… Don’t we?

  13. Amen Lucy! πŸ˜ŠπŸ’—πŸ†

  14. There are days where the one thing that keeps us going is a like and a “great post” comment.

Very well done! Thanks for the support you’ve given to all of us in the blog-o-sphere. πŸ™‚

  15. Good advice, and I am always pleased when I get some feedback on something I’ve posted, My viewing stats bombed in November and haven’t recovered BUT I am still getting the comments and likes from regular readers, and that counts for far more. Thank you for sharing. πŸ™‚

  16. Appreciating the blog post would definitely go a long way for the bloggers! Just liking the post and leaving a comment would make me happy for the entire day. 😊

  17. There. I’ve liked it and tweeted it πŸ™‚ You and all your hard work are very much appreciated.

  18. Great post! I hope it will encourage folks to start leaving more comments and likes. I did, and I tweeted it too. πŸ™‚

  19. So true, Lucy! A good list and a great post πŸ™‚

  20. Very nice, Lucy! Somehow I was missing your new blog pic, too (I like it!). Good stuff; filing this away in my mind for when blogging feels more onerous or, conversely, pointless/empty/apathy-enducing than fun (like with exercise, the struggle to just move sometimes is overwhelming).

  21. F.a.n.t.a.s.t.i.c. ❀ πŸ˜€

  22. Happy Wednesday and good blog posts! ❀

  23. I’m pleased to confirm that you do all these lovely things with my posts *big hug of gratitude*

  24. Well, I’m happy to say that as a blog reader, I do most of those things. And as a blog writer, there’s nothing like realising my readers appreciate what I write. Besides, it’s all for them πŸ™‚

  25. Excellent list of encouragement. As they say, “It takes a villege.” Supporting each other goes a long way on the path to success. Thanks for sharing.

  26. Wonderful Blog Post ! Keep Writing.. ❀
